Made
a page, Sim 2 Sim, for the amazing The Sims 2. It's already
linked on the official site, again under 'Downloads' in the Sims
2 Fan Site section. I hope that's not my being too optimistic -
so far there are three toddler outfits and a lot to download.

Easter
Greetings to all those who do.
I'm pleased to be able to say that 'The Sims ID' has this week been
listed at the Electronic Arts website as a 'The Sims' Fan Site -
(in the 'Downloads 'section). Thanks, Maxis - it's good to be there.
:)
April
5th or 6th
Greetings,
American Retro Diner Chevy 57 Sofa and Desk, along with 50s genuine
leatherette (!) booths have arrived. More bits for this set later.
Today
I finally got round to submitting the site to TSR fansite base and
to the Ultimate Sims List, so please vote/visit, whatever. Everyone
else seems to have been on them for years so I thought I'd join
in, somewhat.
Happy
Simming.
Cheers,
Juliet
Info
The
Sims ID is a user site which offers new objects
for the all time best-selling computer game, The Sims. If you are
new to The Sims you might like to visit
The Sims
official site to find more information about
the game.
Most
of the files on The Sims ID can be
used with The Sims alone, but some
also require the use of an expansion pack; where this is so it will
be indicated alongside the file. To avoid frustration, please
download only those files for which you have the necessary expansion
pack. If you have any problems using this site, or with any of the
files, please leave a message on the forum or contact me at the
Yahoo! Group.
Archive
pages; the site's archive is in two sections - at the top
are all the files which are still available on the site for download;
there are a good many files in this section, including many toys,
a child's bedroom set, a children's reading corner, children's pianos,
traditional wooden toyboxes, and doll's houses. There are two new
styles of easel - a desktop easel for children, and a wall canvas,
which your Sims will spray paint; the wall canvas was made with
Motelk at 'Sims on a Stick' ; all the archive files continue to
be popular downloads.
The other archive section shows files which have been transferred
to The Sims ID Yahoo! Group. Here there
are bikes in eight colours, a laundry room set, a kitchen set, a
very colourful child's bedroom set ('The Bratomatic'), items for
a hallway, and some modern slimline grandfather clocks. To download
the files pictured in this section you
will need to take a moment to join the Yahoo! Group. Once you have
joined, the files can be accessed from the Group's page by clicking
on the 'Files' link. Pictures can be viewed via the 'Photo Album'
link. Membership is free, and you won't receive piles of e.mail,
just the occasional line or two once a month, from me, to be precise.
It's not a discussion group; any e.mail you send will not be posted
to the group or to the board.
FAQ:
Why are some files on the Yahoo! Group rather than on the website?
Yahoo! offers a very good free file-sharing system which helps reduce
the amount of bandwidth being used by the site; as such, many Sim
sites make use of this free service. There may be times when the
files at the Group are not accessible; there is nothing I can do
about this - please be patient, and try again later or on another
day.

a Message
If you would like to contact me, you can do so via the Yahoo! Group
e.mail address which is below. I do my best to answer queries regarding
my own objects etc but if you want help with The Sims in general
please go to the official site or to The Sims Resource forums. Thank
you.

Downloading
To
download files from this site you will need to use Winzip.
(Unless you have Windows XP, which has its' own unzipping gizmo.)
Once
you have downloaded the files, they should be extracted to the following
folders:
Objects:
C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\UserObjects
Walls:....C:\Program
Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Walls
Floors:...C:\Program
Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Floors
(or
to whichever drive you have The Sims installed if not C.)
Alternatively,
objects can be put into either of these
folders:
C:\Program
Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Downloads
C:\Program
Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Objects
If
there is a readme file in the folder, delete it or save it away
from your game for future reference; don't extract readme files
into your game folders.
If
you are new to using user-created downloads you will soon find that
you need a program such as EliSims in order to keep your downloads
in order; to begin you will probably download a lot of items which
you then discover you don't really want in your game, after all,
but which you don't know how to identify in order to be able to
remove them. EliSims will display all your walls, floors, skins,
and objects, and lets you delete any unwanted files with ease.
